My father died because of lack of care

A doctor has spoken of how his previously healthy father died in hospital - partly, he says, because of the lack of care he received at the hands of NHS staff.
...Severely dehydrated from lack of fluids, Mr Rodin, at this stage still lucid and conscious, was gasping for water. Adam and Bridget gave him a drink through a straw.
A nurse loudly told them off, clearly within Mr Rodin’s earshot, saying: “We don’t give fluids to a patient who is not for resuscitation.”

To create law for hospitals to provide mains water taps clearly marked Drinking Water by hospital beds in all wards and all staff facilitate patients using same, providing disposable mug-sized cups.

This makes patients equal to workers who must be provided free of charge drinking water in their workplaces.

For immobile patients to have the right to demand a mains connected water cooler bottle and mechanical tube strapped to their bed to make water accessible to them 24/7.

For the patient and the patient’s family / best friend / advocate to able to demand fluids and feeding as a right for the patient and to have the right of access to come and feed and give drink to the hospital patient.

For no medical staff to withdraw fluids and food from any patient, including those marked Do Not Resuscitate, under penalty of Manslaughter by Medical Negligence.
